Eligibility for transportation for mental health appointments is based on the following: 1) must be a Charles County resident; 2) must be Medicare eligible, uninsured, underinsured or PAC, QMB, or SLMB eligible.
Medicaid eligible individuals are only able to use SMART for mental health services other than psychiatric or therapeutic appointments, i.e. peer support.
Referral for transportation must be made on behalf of the client by the mental health provider to make initial arrangements with SMART.
Transportation for mental health appointments are available by appointment only:

Tuesday and Thursday from 9am to 3pm
1st and 3rd Saturday of the month from 9am to 3pm
Calls to set up appointments should be made at least 2 business days before the ride is needed. Anyone with standing appointments should call SMART every 2 weeks to confirm.
